Local small Kansas City businesses came together Wednesday, March 28th for the annual KC Chamber Small Business Showcase inside of Union Station. Around 80 local companies took part in the event that drew a crowd of professionals, including Comfy Cup’s Co-CEOs, Brandi and Kyler Russell, hoping to learn more about the participating companies.
It was a great experience to see so many awesome companies and people from the Kansas City area come together to celebrate small businesses. We were particularly impressed with Pro Athlete Inc. and their awesome set-up...we felt like we were at the ballpark!
Even more impressive than the visual aesthetics was how clearly this company is committed to giving back to their community. We were impressed by the fish bowl welcoming business cards to enter a contest where the winner would get to choose a charity of their choice for Pro Athlete Inc. to make a $1500 contribution.
We enjoyed seeing some familiar faces and meeting some new friends. We tasted some of Kansas City's tasty treats and were inspired by fellow entrepreneurs who have blazed the trail ahead of us, like Betsy Johnson, inventor of Swim Zip. Overall, this was a wonderful event at Kansas City's beautiful Union Station!
